“Creativity takes Courage” (Henri Matisse). I agree!
So I am back writing again after some time away. I always find time away from anything gives one great perspective and for me this is surely true of songwriting. To say that I have taken time away does not mean that it has not entered my head from time to time (as anyone with a passion for anything will understand) I have simply not acted on my impulses to put pen to paper, instead choosing more mundane tasks such as household chores etc. This journey of music/creativity is quite a difficult one really especially when one is torn between putting pen to paper to pay the bills OR putting pen to paper for the love of music, to simply follow on ones creative journey, putting my mark on the world musically (But probably not paying the bills). Hence I couldn’t agree more with anyone than I agree with Henri Matisse when he says that “creativity takes courage”. Sadly this is not a courage that is afforded to most of us living in today’s hustle and bustle of never ending bills and constant demands of our time. I mean even taking time out to blog can be a luxury in Today’s world. I am delighted to be back behind the pen though. So many ideas swirling round my head. Having visited so many new and exciting places and sat and eavesdropped on so many interesting conversations (purely for the purposes of the arts) my head is a labyrinth of new ideas and melodies.
